Lots of people take their dogs their off leash so be aware of that, but it offers a nice quiet walk without the bikes of the rec path. POW days at Stowe are epic, always untouched snow to be found. The food is very good (& expensive) and you can sit on the lawn or inside with the most beautiful views. Stowe is expensive, long drive, parking s*cks, and very crowded. This only shows how to get from Smuggs to Stowe; I've never done the complimentary trail from behind Sensation back to Smuggs.
